How we can help Police colleagues

The Brighton Crime Reduction Partnership is here to help. We work with businesses, communities, and partners to reduce crime in the city. We do this by empowering our partners and businesses with the tools they need to effectively report and prevent crime. We know that the secret to effectively preventing crime is partnership working. We work with a range of partners, including the police, to help share intelligence and get support where it is needed.

DISC Intelligence Hub

Our DISC Intelligence Hub is available for police colleagues for free. We can also share WANTPERS & MISPERS - see below information for more.

Radio Network

Police colleagues have access to the BCRP radio network which connects you directly with the businesses community. Effective use of the BCRP radio gets you instant access to hundreds of eyes on the ground.

We can help police officers with sharing intelligence to and from our partners and the business community. We also assist with crime reporting, statement gathering, compiling business impact statements for court, training and awareness of campaigns, trends, and people of interest.

Disc Intelligence Hub

The DISC Intelligence Hub is how we share intelligence across our partners and businesses. You will find individuals subject to exclusion, individuals who have recently been active in alleged offences against the business community, and those individuals who need to be identified for alleged offences.

We can also share details of WANTPERS and MISPERS. Please email info@bcrpbrighton.com to find out more about this process and obtain the secure email addresses needed to action this. Our DSA requires Inspector approval for any such requests.

If you have any individuals you want to gather intelligence on or make the business community aware of, you will need to seek Inspector authorisation for them to be shared on the Hub. Speak to one of our team who can guide you through the correct data sharing process.

The BCRP has a unique Information Sharing Agreement with Sussex Police (click here). All of our staff are NPPV vetted to Level 2 and some have access to NICHE. If you are unsure whether you can share something, speak to a member of our team and we can advise you.

Sgt. Alec Barrett has put together a document outlining correct data sharing protocols and processes with us at the BCRP.

Intelligence meetings

We host regular intelligence meetings with our partners and the business community, which police colleagues are free to attend to access intelligence and communicate directly with businesses and security personnel.

  • Weekly briefing or security and venue managers every Friday night. This quick ten-minute briefing is a good opportunity to inform the NTE venues of the latest intelligence and to ask them to keep an eye out for anything that might be on your radar.

  • Weekly meeting with BCRP colleagues, NPT, and the Business Improvement District Ambassadors to discuss the latest intelligence and happenings on the ground. A great opportunity to link in with the BCRP and the BID each week to look at taskings.

    When: Every Tuesday

    Time: 1400 hrs

    Location: Meeting room 2, First Floor, John Street Police Station

  • Quarterly meetings held with the licensees across the city. Usually these meetings have a “focus” such as vulnerability/ VAWG/ knife crime awareness and allows BCRP, Police colleagues, ad other Partners to impart knowledge, discuss an area of business, and empower the trade to work in partnership on an issue.

    When: Wednesday/ Thursdays, dates are decided based on time and demand

    Time: Usually 1300 hrs
