Man sought in connection with rape offence

Sussex Police investigating the alleged rape of a 24-year-old woman are seeking a man seen with her on the same evening on a bus going into Brighton.

The man in the picture was on a No 2 bus between Shoreham and Brighton, with the woman, and he was seen getting off in Western Road, Brighton, near Leichmanns, just after 9pm on the evening of 11 August.

He is described as white, aged about 30, wearing a blue fleece and a tracksuit with red stripes.

They had both boarded the bus in Shoreham High Street outside the Co-Op and sat in the back of the top deck in the left hand corner. The man was seen kissing and embracing her during which she appeared to be uncomfortable with his attentions.

The woman subsequently reported that she had been raped earlier the same evening.
