Assault on a bus
A young girl was assaulted in an unprovoked attack as she travelled on the number 5 bus going to Patcham on the London Road at about 17:00 on 07 March. She was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
The man who allegedly attacked her had been sitting nearby. He assaulted her then left the bus at the next stop near Preston Park.
He is described as a black man, in his 30s, wearing a black camouflage top and jeans.
Investigating officer, PC Marc Donnelly, said: “This was a disturbing, unprovoked assault on a young girl along a busy bus route in the middle of the afternoon.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and I would like to reassure the public that there is no wider risk of harm.
“There are sure to have been witnesses who can help with our investigation and we would ask anybody who can help to contact us online or by calling 101, quoting serial 901 of 07/03.”
