Vicious robbery & assault
Roman Lee has been charged with a violent attempted robbery in Brighton.
A group of people reported being approached by two men in the early hours of 29 June in Jubilee Street in the city centre. After being threatened by the duo, two members of the group were assaulted with one suffering significant injuries, including a broken arm.
They called Sussex Police after the men ran away and after a short search one of the men was found in nearby Pavilion Gardens.
Eighteen-year-old Roman Lee was arrested and later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, assault by beating, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He is also accused of being in breach of an existing community protection notice [CPN] prohibiting him from entering Pavilion Gardens.
Lee appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 19 July and was remanded in custody, pending an appearance at court on 09 August.
