New Road initiative

The BCRP and partners in the city are working together to jointly address community concerns around known individuals causing harm to the New Road area of Brighton.

The Brighton and Hove BCRP, alongside the Safer Communities Team are co-coordinating a response to issues raised by the business community and are working closely with Sussex Police to address these concerns.

This includes a New Road gallery on the BCRP’s secure intelligence platform – DISC - which gives details of individuals alleged to have been involved in anti-social behaviour in the immediate New Road area.

The BCRP can effectively guide partners to either employ enforcement action or referral to those agencies who can help support and draw the individuals away from the area.

Partners involved in this project will be meeting on a monthly basis with businesses in this area to effectively address their needs.

Following these visits and intelligence gathering exercises, businesses and partners will come together to implement a joint working plan.
