BCRP and Sussex Police announce new vulnerability training dates for members

The BCRP and Sussex Police are pleased to announce that the successful vulnerability training sessions will be re-launched this April with a new look.

Over the past three years, Sussex Police, in partnership with the BCRP, have taken an innovative approach with their campaigns seeking to prevent rape and serious sexual offences occurring in the night time economy. Following our research, the campaign has focused on exploring social responsibility and understanding what makes people make an intervention when faced with others presenting certain vulnerabilites or behaviours. The training has provided door staff, bar staff and managers alike with a toolkit to consider when dealing with vulnerable people to ensure their safety.

The BCRP has been working alongside colleagues from Sussex Police to revamp the training to reflect current trends and developments. This will be a great opportuntiy for new staff but will also act as a refresher with new messages for members who have previously undertaken the training.

The training is paramount and Sussex Police and BCRP request all members to ensure a representative attends. It is free of charge for BCRP members and will be held on the following dates in Brighton:

Tuesday 17th April, 10am

Thursday 26th of April, 1pm

For more information on the training, or to book a space, please contact the BCRP scheme office on 01273 733393 or email kylie.wroe@bcrpbrighton.com.

Don't miss this opportunity. Places will be limited so book early to avoid disappoinment.
