18 year old sentenced

Jack Maker, of Crabtree Avenue, Brighton, was found guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of a bladed article, taking a motorbike without consent and driving without insurance.

During his arrest he assaulted PC Alex Barrett and resisted arrest by PC Louie Wellfare when he was stopped in Wiston Road, Brighton. In addition they found him in possession of a sword.

Magistrates sentenced him to an eight-week suspended jail term and he was ordered to complete 36 rehabilitation sessions and pay a £115 surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned from driving for six months.
