Brighton station incident

Police were called to Brighton railway station at 03:49 on 17 May after a report of a man claiming to be in possession of an explosive device outside the station

The station was temporarily closed to the public and a cordon was set up as a safety precaution while police carried out an extensive area search. Corey Moss, 27 years old, of no fixed address was detained by the officers attending the scene. No explosive devices were found but two knives were recovered.

He was charged with two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place and he appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
