Sue Addis’ alleged killer named

Pietro Addis appeared virtually at Hove Crown Court today via video, charged with the murder of Sue Addis, owner of Donatello and Pinocchio restaurants.

The popular and well-known 69-year-old was found dead at an address in Cedars Gardens at 18.55 on 7 January having suffered multiple stab wounds.

The eighteen year old is the grandson of Sue Addis. He pleaded not guilty to one charge of murder but admitted manslaughter. But the prosecutor deemed the plea unacceptable and the case will now proceed to trial, on 9 August.

An adjournment until 2 July will allow time for the preparation of a psychiatric report.
