Brighton cat killer identified?
A security guard is alleged to have killed a dozen cats in a vendetta against the feline pets that lasted over a year.
Steve Bouquet – a 54 year old working at the city’s shopping mall – is alleged to have stabbed nine cats to death and seriously wounded seven others during 2018 and 2019. He denies the charges.
He was allegedly seen on the CCTV installed at a neighbour’s house when a cat was attacked in May 2019. The neighbour had installed the CCTV after a similar incident with his own cat. When stopped by police in the area of the attack Bouquet was found to be in possession of a Leatherman multipurpose knife with feline DNA on the blade.
