Brighton Comes Together: A Powerful Day of Partnership in Action

On Monday 16th June, the Brighton Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) networking event was a proud moment for the city – bringing together an inspiring mix of people and organisations committed to making Brighton a safer, stronger place for everyone.

From Sussex Police, the SIA, and licensing teams, to community safety officers, youth workers, and frontline staff tackling substance misuse – the room was filled with professionals working across the full spectrum of community safety. Corporate businesses stood shoulder to shoulder with small independents, and night-time economy members connected with education providers and early intervention partners – all unified by one goal: to work together to reduce crime and vulnerability in our city.

The event opened with powerful words from BCRP Safeguarding & Intelligence Manager Sarah Morris, who reflected on the strength of our growing collaboration and Chief Inspector Simon Marchant. Their message was clear: we can only make real, lasting change by working together and staying focused on people – not just problems.

What followed was a morning of energising conversation, shared insights, and a sense of renewed commitment to partnership working. Many of the organisations represented are already part of BCRP’s early intervention plan – a joined-up approach to preventing harm, supporting vulnerable people, and building trust across sectors.

This is what partnership in action looks like.

We’re proud to convene events like these – spaces where relationships are built, silos are broken, and ideas turn into action.

If your business or organisation isn’t already a member of BCRP, now is the time to get involved.

Membership offers access to intelligence, support, and the chance to be part of something bigger – a network that’s actively shaping a safer Brighton for everyone.

Thank you to every partner who showed up, shared your work, and helped drive this collective effort forward. Let’s keep building on this momentum.

Together, we are not just responding to crime – we are creating a culture of safety, care, and shared responsibility.
