Partnership in Action: Over 100 Arrests Thanks to BCRP's Support of Sussex Police
We’re proud to share the outstanding results from our ongoing collaboration with Sussex Police in identifying and locating wanted individuals across Brighton & Hove.
In the first half of 2025 alone, Brighton Crime Reduction Partnership directly contributed to the arrest of 108 wanted individuals—that’s more than half of the 207 people shared with us through Sussex Police’s wanted person process. When combined with officer-led arrests following our shared intelligence, the total positive outcome rate rises to an impressive 68.9%.
This success is the result of a structured information-sharing process that’s been steadily refined over the years with the help of dedicated Sussex Police officers. Sussex Police officers notify us through DISC IM (our secure business intelligence network) about individuals they believe are wanted and likely to be in the city. These are carefully selected cases — not every wanted person is shared with us — but the focus remains on those most likely to be seen and recognised by frontline workers in the local area.
Once notified, we update our Wanted Gallery on DISC, which is refreshed daily Monday to Friday. Our network of over 500 businesses and security teams are encouraged to review this gallery regularly. If a member spots someone from the gallery, they know to act quickly and call it through to ensure the police can respond.
Our businesses are the eyes and ears on the ground, and this partnership approach allows for swift, coordinated action that often leads directly to arrest. It’s a real-time, community-powered process that strengthens both crime prevention and public safety.
In addition to this work, our team regularly supports Sussex Police by:
Obtaining and sharing CCTV footage
Assisting with suspect identification
Communicating key information across the city
Providing witness statements to progress investigations
As a police officer we work closely with recently commented:
“This process helps Sussex Police deliver the Chief’s priorities. Criminals are caught quicker, brought to justice sooner, which delivers a better service to communities and keeps them safer. The statistics are excellent — as are the BCRP — so thank you ever so much for all the additional assistance your partnership gives us.”
We are incredibly proud of our team and the wider BCRP network for their vigilance, professionalism, and commitment to a safer city. This is partnership in action. This is what community safety looks like.
