The BCRPs 12 crime prevention days of Christmas - day 6
Today's topic of conversation is Sussex Police's Investigation and Resolution Centre (IRC) with which many of our members will have been in touch at some point or other. But what is their remit and how does it all work? Let's find out!
The IRC is a remote investigation team. Which offers a high quality service to the public where incidents have been identified as low threat, harm and risk. The incidents have the scope to be initially investigated, or resolved, without police attendance
Business crime is defined by the National Business Crime Centre (NBCC) as "any criminal offence where a business, or person in the course of their employment, is the victim".

Improving the solve rates of business crime and flagging of business crime incidents
Raising awareness that business crime is not a victimless crime

Our work with partners
The Safer Sussex Business Partnership (SSBP) was set up by Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne in February 2020. It brings together Sussex Police, local and national retailers and other interested partners to tackle the root causes of business crime, encourage swifter reporting and find better ways to work together to catch and punish all prolific offenders.
